I went to the doctor yesterday. They didn't check me for dilation so I'm not sure. I don't really feel any different. I did have some false labor contractions last Friday. They hurt... and they aren't even the real thing. It felt like really sharp menstrual cramps right below my belly. They lasted about an hour before they stopped and I haven't felt anything like them since. I told the doctor about it, but she didn't seem concerned. She says it's just my body preparing for birth. I still keep mine and Danica's packed bag in the car, though. You never know when she is going to decide to come.
Nothing else to report except I'm really sick of apple juice! There was still some in the refrigerator this past weekend, but the thought of it made me sick- so I told Joe to finish it off. I don't have any new craving, though. I'd only gained a pound in a week when I was weighed at the doctors office yesterday. And since that is what they wanted, yeah for me! If I keep it up, that will mean I wouldn't have gained any more than about 35 pounds over my entire pregnancy... which is good.
2 more weeks to go and I still have a lot of back pain. Unfortunately, my drive back and forth to work is really not helping. I've started using a pillow to support my back during the trip. My ankles and feet are also swollen. It hurts to walk. Since I have to sleep on my side, I like to turn from one side to the other several times at night... that's even getting harder to do. I've resorted to grabbing the headboard of the bed to help with the turn. Last night, I even grabbed and used Joe to help. I don't think he liked being woke up that way. You can't even begin to imagine the agony I feel at the thought of needing to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Which leads me to report that I'm no longer thirsty at 5:30 a.m. because I don't want to get up and go to the kitchen. I went grocery shopping last night and picked up enough stuff so I won't have to go again until after the baby is born. A routine 45 minute trip lasted about an hour and a half. Anyway... you get the picture. Things are going to be tough these last two weeks!
