Hello there and welcome! I usually blog about my precious daughter, Danica, but today I've decided to participate in Kelly's Korner Show Us Your Life series regarding our Alma Maters. I just checked her blog in hopes that someone out there blogged about East Carolina University... and since she hasn't heard from a Pirate yet, I decided to step in!
I attended East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. I graduated from ECU with a BS Degree in Family and Community Services and again in 2006 with an MS Degree in Counselor Education. I was born and raised in Greenville, N.C., and since ECU is literally the heart of our city, I always considered the possibility of one day attending a privilege for this small town girl. I attended ECU tailgate parties and football games before I even filled out an ECU admissions application. Not only do I continue to participate in tailgate parties and attend every ECU home football game, I support ECU as a Pirate Club Member to help support our Pirate Athletes!
ECU has a variety of Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctorate Degree Programs in disciplines such as Business, Communication, Education, Fine Arts, Sciences, Health Sciences, Computer Sciences, etc. ECU's Medical School ranks 6 in primary care amongst the top medical schools in the nation and will start the first class of future dentists in August 2011. ECU currently serves around 25,000 students and keeps on growing. There is so much to love about this school!
I must also confess that my gals and I just might be part of the reason that ECU got a reputation for being one of the top party schools in the US. Greenville is known for it's downtown bar scene. As a matter of fact, very few students leave ECU behind without memories of attending one of Greenville's Downtown Halloween Parties. Playboy has been voting ECU one of the top 10 party schools in the nation for years and I have a feeling our Halloween Party has something to do with that. For those of you that were eager to see... I draw lines when it comes to posting party pictures on the internet. What happens in G-vegas, stays in G-vegas, right?
I'll at least post a picture of Danica sporting my favorite colors (you know I couldn't end without a post about my sweet girl). I don't know if she will choose to attend my Alma Mater one day. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if she does. In the meantime, I'll keep her wardrobe stocked with purple and gold and teach her to at least steer clear of ECU rivals. Thank you so much for stopping by!
