Since I was out of the Blogger world from February through May, I wanted to update my blog regarding my pregnancy and some other important things I want to remember.
First of all, I was so sick during my first trimester. I vomited 2-3 times a week in the morning and was nauseous all day long. I told so many people that, even Danica picked it up. When she tells me what she did at school, her response follows with a slow, "all.day.long". Too funny! I felt sick all the time and was tired all the time! I stopped going to the gym since right after work, I wanted to take a nap before Joe and Danica got home. It was bad! I only wanted comfort food. I ate pasta, bread, and ice cream! I had a lot of food aversions, especially to meat. I cooked eggs and bacon every morning because the more hungry I felt, the more sick I was. This is what caused some of my friends to believe I was having a boy. I never got sick when I was pregnant with Danica.
I've gained 8 pounds and I'm wearing some maternity clothes. I wore my regular clothes for a while and then began increasing the size of my pants. I'm still wearing my regular shirts, but with maternity pants now. I started to feel much better at 14 weeks and have even started going to the gym more. I have to work out! When I was pregnant with Danica, I worked out until I was 8 months pregnant and believe that helped me lose the weight I gained; so I want to make sure I hit the gym this time around as well.
I hit a milestone while pregnant. I will now get to tell my son I was baptized when I was pregnant with him. Joe and I did First Steps at Covenant in May and officially became members! I was saved when I was 13, but never baptized. Part of the First Steps program involved being baptized if you've never been. I was baptized on May 19 during our Saturday night service. It's truly been a blessing to be part of
Covenant. God has been doing some wonderful things in my life and I'm happy to serve him and accept his son as my savior. Praise Him!
Danica completed Gymnastics for the year. Joe and I both attended her star program. They set up stations so each child can show us what they learned. I was so proud of my girl. I can tell Danica really loves gymnastics. We were going to take the summer off, but decided to enroll her. She doesn't really see it as work, yet. And they only meet once a week, so why not? We are considering signing her up for dance in the fall. She really wants to dance. She is already asking me for a tutu, a pink leotard, and some ballet shoes. I think she's ready.
Danica now has a kitten. A couple of cats are lingering around Mema's house and they won't go away because Mema keeps feeding them. Now there are kittens in the barn. They come out to play, but run back into the barn when we are near. I was able to catch one of them one evening. She is a super cute black and white kitten that Danica fell in love with right away. I thought we would get the kittens out of the barn and find homes for them, but Danica had plans of her own. Her daddy and all of us were standing there when she first held her and played with her. She began talking to the kitten and said, " I saved you from the barn for Jesus". Joe asked how he could say no to her after she says something like that. She then began rocking the kitten and sang, "Jesus loves me". Needless to say, Joe let her keep the kitten. Her name is Stella. Since we are not having the daughter we were going to name Stella, he can now name Danica's kitten Stella. She is a sweet kitten and grew used to us right away. And with a baby coming soon (although completely different than raising a cat), it's been good for Danica to learn how gentle she has to be.
Joe's brother, Travis, also made a visit in May. He stayed for a month or so and went to the Zoo and the beach with us. He graduates in December and plans to go to Graduate School, so he also took this time to visit campus' closer to home :) The visit was just too short by the time he had to leave to prepare for his summer class. We were happy that he was able to stay for the big news and he is certainly excited about his nephew. I asked him if he was happy and he really is. He actually had a choice word to use for what the future may look like for his Sutton nephew... BASEBALL!
