I'm at 30 weeks and saw the doctor yesterday. My weight has shot up a bit more than the one pound a week that was suggested. I've gained 6 pounds in just 3 weeks... Oops! I admitted I have a bit of a sweet tooth and he warned me against sweets, snacks, and sodas. I didn't drink soda at all during my first trimester, then I would have it on weekends during my second trimester, and for the past couple of weeks, I've had one sprite or even a coke a day. And I've got to stay away from chocolate... at least during the weekdays. I could eat something chocolate at least once a day. Bad! Bad!
I finally did take the glucose test. I haven't received my results yet. Please pray that I passed it. The test took an hour and Dr. Stephenson said that if I failed it, I would have to undergo a three hour test next time. I also recieved a shot of Rhophylac (since I have a negative blood type) in my hip and they will administer one more after she is born.
Everything is still going great and she is still as active as ever. She likes to get what I think is her foot in my ribcage and I have to rub over it to get her to move every now and then. I sleep well, but getting comfortable to do so is becoming more of a challenge every week. I get occassional leg cramps and have bad indigestion just about every day. I've resorted to taking Tums but don't have the nasty heartburn yet.
Next weekend, we are going to start working on her nursery. We've picked the paint and chosen the decor... and Joe is going to put up the crib. Her nursery will be purple, sage, and light brown and we will be decorating with flowers and butterflies. For those of you who know that Joe reserved the bonus room for his "pirate room"; I finally did talk Joe into switching it to the smaller room (the bonus room is much larger than the two bedrooms). In my debate, I argued that if Danica gets the smaller room, she would have to resort to putting her toys in the pirate room when there is no room left. Danica won!
My next appointment is Halloween day with Dr. Bane. Dr. Bane is my regular gynecologist and since I haven't seen her since I found out I am pregnant, I'm looking forward to it. They did ask me which doctor's I had not seen and I responded that it would be easier to tell them which doctors I had since there were only 2 of them. So the goal now is to make appointments with different doctors so I when I deliver, I've met all of them and will be comfortable with any of them. I even told Dr. Stephenson that I hope he delivers me since he's the only one I've seen at this point!
