Well... I failed the first glucose test. My sugar was a couple of points out of range (higher) than they would have liked. I guess that's what I get for missing it the original day it was scheduled. Not to worry, though! I took the longer test on Wednesday and passed! This time they drew my blood every hour for three hours and I stayed within the range two out of three times. Since that's what they want... that's not that bad. Yeah for me!
Danica is still doing well. She is still as active as ever and Marjorie got to feel her kick this past weekend. I know that meant a lot to her. Feeling her move really is special. I read a book to her at night now and she moves around when I do. It's like she can tell the difference between me talking directly to her versus my talking to someone else. I think Joe should try reading to her... she is used to my voice. She needs to hear her daddy. He says he still feels weird about talking to my tummy; but he does kiss her and tells her he loves her!
We are going to start on her nursery this weekend. We've got to get the computer out and the crib in. Maybe Joe will even paint next weekend!? Then we've got a couple of baby showers coming up in November. My office is giving me a diaper shower on November 6 and our family is giving us a shower at Reedy Branch Free Will Baptist Church on November 9. Thank goodness for Kendall who has talked Joe into going! He didn't want to go at first... he said showers are for women... but now he says he'll go since Kendall is going and now he won't be the only male there. I know it's typically a girl thing, but Joe should get involved. It's not a shower for me... it's a shower for Danica! I think it'll be fun. Mary Lee and Marci have worked really hard on the invitations and a lot of people have offered to bring food. It should be a fun time. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone!
