MAVERICK PAUL SUTTON
We are so excited! We were looking for different- a name that no other child we know has; and that sounds great with Paul. Joe and I have literally discussed hundreds of names and couldn't agree. But we both LOVE Maverick and our family/friends love it, too! We couldn't be happier!
So excited to also tell you what we've been up to! July is my FAVORITE Month! And it's not only because it's my birthday month. I love the 4th of July holiday. It really "rings" the summer in the best and it follows with cook-outs, pool time, and usually marks the start of summer beach vacations. Although we have not taken a big beach vacation, I made sure our vacation involved water!
We took Danica to Water Country USA for a day and had a blast. Growing up, my family and I went to Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion nearly every summer. At just 3 1/2, I think Danica is too young for those type of amusement parks. There just isn't enough rides to justify the expense and time for now. So I did some water park research with toddler activities in mind and Water Country USA was the perfect place. They had several shallow pools that Danica could just walk in. All of them were decorated with animal slides, playsets, and water sprinklers- enough to keep her entertained for sure. And since I'm pregnant, I was so thankful that I did not have to do a lot of running around. Pools that Danica could walk in meant I could sit and play with her. Joe took her on the lazy river and I took her on a toddler water slide. And you know Joe couldn't end the day without a "big kid" water slide adventure and decided to brave the Vanish Point. You apparently enter a sky box and the floor is ripped out from under you. Then you travel the water through a tube. The line wasn't long because people would go up and come right back down after realizing what they were getting themselves into! LOL! Here a couple of pictures from the day:
Absolutely no pictures of me pregnant and in a bathing suit! Although I did purchase one from Motherhood and I look super cute in it! HA!
We spent time with some of our friends on Independence Day! We went to the pool with our friend Hope and her gang and Kim and Garrett were there, too. The kids had fun swimming and sliding. We also went to a cook-out and birthday party for our friend, Nicholas. Nicholas turned 5 this year and starts Kindergarten in the fall! We decided not to go to the fireworks. We went with my Dad to some fireworks earlier in the week and Danica did not like them, so I didn't think it was worth going. We were all tired anyway and took the opportunity to relax at home.
I celebrated my birthday with friends at Carolina Ale House followed by gifts at home with Joe and Danica. They got me some super cute shoes and Joe picked out a wristlet for me and a matching coin purse for Danica. And they are both HOT PINK-just the way Danica likes it. We are going to be stylin' for sure! We then went to the "garage house" and Mema took us to Milton's Pizza in Wake Forest. I had the best birthday, but my favorite part was hearing my sweet gal say, "Happy Birthday, Mommy". It truly melt my heart. Love that girl! The FB post from Joe that read, "And you're still HOT AS H$%^&" wasn't all that bad, either! LOL... My hubs really knows how to make this pregnant girl feel special! Hope everyone is having an awesome summer!
