Pregnancy Update

I'm 33 weeks pregnant now and I'm getting tired! And I'm not surprised, they are predicting Maverick to be a big baby. We decided to do a 4-D ultrasound this time. We didn't do one with Danica. We thought it would be neat to see. So we set up the appointment at 28 weeks. At that time, Maverick was 3.5 pounds and they said that is usually the weight of a baby at 30-31 weeks. Oh goodness...

At 30 weeks, they measured my "fundal height" and it was 33 centimeters. They say the height should equal your weeks, so yet... another reason to believe Maverick is bigger than average. Last week, at 32 weeks, I'm measuring at 35. I'm predicting an early baby, but because they tend to stick to their guns when it comes to due dates, they want to do another ultrasound at 36 weeks to check his weight again. They also want me to start thinking about a C-section, just in case it is revealed he is going to be over 9 pounds. I think I can handle it.

I was scared when we first started talking about C-sections and big babies, but ironically enough, I happen to be talking to a special friend of mine (at a Kari Jobe concert) who vaginally delivered an 11 pound baby because she was never given the option. She told me if he is big and I can have a C-section, then do it. She may have weathered that delivery, but her sweet boy suffered. I think now, I just want to do what's best for Maverick.

Otherwise, my pregnancy is still going well. He's moving a lot these days and just like Danica- likes to keep his bottom poking out on my right side! LOL! Danica likes to feel him move. She talks to him, sings to him, and gives him kisses. It has been so much fun watching her get more and more excited.

Joe painted the nursery right after we found crib bedding for him. We tried so hard not to do anything sport related (I'm not even sure why), but we ended up finding super cute bedding with a baseball and a baseball bat. And since Joe played baseball in HS and has tons of baseball decor from his old room, it only seems right that we use it for our son.

With only a month or so away, we've got a few events coming up. A friend of mine is hosting a "sprinkle" for me next weekend. Another friend of mine is going to take maternity pictures for me. And I registered Danica for a sibling tour at the hospital. I can't believe we've only got just over a month to go!
