NY Trip

Joe and I took a trip to New York- just the two of us. Derek Jeter announced that he is retiring after this season- that gave us an excuse to go to a Yankee's game. We haven't been since 2004- 10 years ago. We went to a game at the old stadium and I missed Jeter's homer because I left to get food. This time we got to see the new stadium and although I didn't get to see Jeter hit a homer, we had awesome seats- right above the Yankee's dugout!

We stayed with our sweet friends, Lauren, Matt, and Knox, in Alexandria, VA on the way up to NY. She cooked dinner for us Thursday night and we stayed up late catching up. She is a Thirty-One consultant; so I ordered a new bag for the summer as well!

We drove the rest of the way Friday. We stayed in a New Jersey hotel with shuttle service to the Train Station. They let us check in a bit early which was great since taking the bus to Penn Station and taking the Subway to the Bronx meant that we would get to the game just in time. We ate dinner there- best burgers EVER- from Johnny Rockets!

We went back into the city on Saturday. Joe was on a mission to eat as much pizza as possible. We ate pizza by the slice at three different restaurants (not all at the same time). We spent time in Chinatown and Soho and ate sweets at Ferrar's Bakery. Then we took the subway back up to 5th avenue so I could go to Tiffany's- which was closed.for a private party.I was bummed. But I did get to see the American girl store and I am so excited to take Danica there one day. It was so neat!

We left Saturday night and drove all night. I wanted to be home Sunday to spend the day with the kids. It was a short trip, but it was nice to get away with Joe and spend time with him! We are planning to go again in September. We are thinking about taking Danica with us then! We'll see.
