It was a cold and rainy Easter this year, but that didn't keep us from celebrating. Our church hosted an Easter Egg Hunt inside after Saturday night service. It was super busy, but the kids enjoyed it. Poor Maverick only got one egg. But this is his first "walking" Easter and he wasn't sure about all the people there. Both my children tend to step back and process a situation before they jump in. Bless their hearts!
When we got home Saturday night, we discovered that we got "egged" and in a good way! There were 12 eggs in our yard. The kids were so excited. Danica picked up eggs, took the candy out, and threw them back on the ground. Then Maverick came behind her and picked up the empty egg. Poor guy. But he was just as happy!!!
I did something completely different for Easter Baskets. I got Maverick a Pirate Water Table and I filled a Laundry Basket with toys for Danica- My Little Pony and Lalaloopsy! She has been asking for a laundry basket. She wanted one for her room because I'm always finding dirty laundry in her room and reminding her to take it to the laundry room. Whatever it takes to motivate her to keep her room clean!
The best part about Easter was listening to Danica talk about Jesus' resurrection. She made Resurrection eggs at school. I asked her to sit down with me and tell me about it and was so proud of her. It's been a blessing to have her at a Christian school. She is even teaching me so much. Jesus Lives!
