We've been busy. Our social activity increases with the return of warm weather. It’s no coincidence either; it's merely a deliberate action on my part. I love this weather and can't stand being stuck in the house when there are so many things to do. For starters, my friend Lisa invited me to a mommy's retreat at the beach. My sweet hubby agreed to keep Danica so I can spend some long overdue time with "the girls". We went the the Food and Wine Festival in Beaufort, N.C. and had a blast. The weather was nice enough to soak up a bit of sun, too. I went home red.
This past weekend, Danica had a soccer game. The coaches took turns walking her around the field while the other kids played. She doesn’t mind being on the field, but she hasn’t quite grasped that she is supposed to be running after the ball. For the last goal of the game, Coach Billy asked all the kids to stop and let Danica make the goal. It was so cute.
After her soccer game, we took Danica to the Strawberry Fields on 903 so she could pick strawberries for the first time. She caught on quickly and loved every minute of it.
In addition to the strawberry fields, there were animals and a homemade icecream stand. The icecream was really good. I ordered chocolate for me, strawberry for Danica, and a double scoop of peach and blueberry for Joe. He was so impressed, he ordered another double scoop of strawberry and banana.
And Danica made a friend. This little guy followed her around everywhere hoping she would drop some of her icecream on the ground. Once she realized what he wanted, she began deliberately dropping her icecream.
I spent Mother’s Day in Franklinton. Joe and I went to the house to do some cleaning. The grass was a mess. Serves us right waiting three weeks to visit the house. No wonder no one is buying… it’s a jungle out there. Even the neighbor felt sorry for us and came over to help. I think we are going to hire him to help us once a month so we don’t have to go up there so much. Please pray our house sells soon.
Today marks one week until our vacation. We are leaving this weekend to spend a week in Hilton Head and a day at Disney. I can’t wait to take Danica to Magic Kingdom. She is going to be so thrilled. My sister and niece are going to meet us (they live in Ft. Lauderdale). I’m looking forward to spending time with them as well.
