4th of July Weekend

On July 4, we went to Washington to see the fireworks. I took this picture at the house before we left. I ordered the dress from a lady on Etsy. The colors looked brighter in the picture, and then a bit more country when I received it. Once I saw it… I knew I needed to pair it with cowboy boots! I was so right. She was the talk of the night. Everyone thought she was so cute! Good job mama!

The timing on the dress and the cowboy boots couldn’t be more perfect. She still loves Toy Story and likes to quote Woody and Buzz. Her interest in Woody has sparked up an interest for all things “cowboy” or “cowgirl”. A local restaurant is featuring “Liv” dolls in their happy meals. I took Danica to eat there a couple of weeks ago and she was so excited about getting a doll, that she requested the same thing the next time I told her we were taking her out to lunch. She told us she wanted, “Chicken nuggets, apples, apple juice, and a Barbie”. Joe asked me what she was talking about. After I explained, he said he thought that was a great idea. Then has asked me where we went- Uh oh. McDonalds-Joe hates McDonalds! It was so funny to see his reaction when I told him. Needless to say, we did eat at McDonald’s that day and Danica’s doll ended up being the COWGIRL! She was so happy. I think I know what Danica is going to be for Halloween this year!

The long 4th of July weekend was wonderful. We grilled out with Joe’s parents one night and then with his cousin on the 4th. Other than going to Washington, we stayed in town and did a lot of shopping. I went to Overton’s to pick up a vest and fishing rod for Danica. There’s a pond full of fish near the house, so Joe took Danica fishing for the first time. She caught a fish and reeled it in herself. She was so excited. Joe let her hold the fish before they put him back in the pond. She even kissed him. It was a little gross and super sweet all at the same time! That’s my girl. It amazes me how prissy she can be one minute, and how much of a tom boy she can be the next. She loves the outdoors- just like her daddy. Living in the woods for now almost seems too perfect for Joe and Danica. Did I mention our neighbors have a horse?! And Danica loves him! I’m considering riding lessons when she is a bit older.

And I can't remember if I ever did reply to you about getting together sometime. We really should! I'm sure that the girls would all have a blast playing together!
